Current Norms for Our Parish-Holy Name of Jesus

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

  • All public celebrations of the Mass are currently suspended, by order of Bishop Caggiano
  • All Mass intentions currently scheduled are being offered by priests at their daily private Masses
  • By mandate, all priests must refrain from inviting anyone to the Masses they celebrate in private
  • Masses celebrated at homes or outdoors are not permitted

Parishioners not attending Mass or not receiving Holy Communion should instead make an “Act of Spiritual Communion.” The Act can be a simple prayer:
“My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.  Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.”
