For a Synodal Church - 2021-2023

As we begin the second week of our Synod Journey together, let us consider some of its objectives:

  • Examining how responsibility and power are lived in the Church as well as the structures by which they are managed, bringing to light and trying to convert prejudices and distorted practices that are not rooted in the Gospel
  • Accrediting the Christian community as a credible subject and reliable partner in paths of social dialogue, healing, reconciliation, inclusion and participation, the reconstruction of democracy, the promotion of fraternity and social friendship
  • Regenerating relationships among members of Christian communities as well as between communities and other social groups, e.g., communities of believers of other denominations and religions, civil society organizations, popular movements
  • With these objectives in mind, we offer these two Scriptural passages for reflection:

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me something to eat, I was a stranger and you took me in. Matthew 25:35-40

Question 2: How are our decisions in life formed by the liturgy and sacramental life of our parish?

    Please share your reflection by:

  • Replying to this e-mail
  • Write a response and give it to a member of our Synod Team after mass, or dropping it off at the Parish Center
  • Visiting the Synod area on our website record your response
  • Everything shared will be heard, read (keeping your identity confidential if you wish), and summarized in our Parish Report for Bishop Caggiano.

Remember, in January and February, we will offer sessions for people to gather around tables to journey together face-to-face and share.  You can join one or more sessions.  We will have dates soon!

Thank you for journeying with us,
